The federal government has held firm in classifying marijuana or cannabis as a Schedule I drug. Attorney Vince Camacho\, an employment lawyer\, cautioned that even in states where recreational marijuana is legal\, the supreme courts in those states have ruled in favor of employers who terminated employees who tested positive for marijuana use.
